You want to know what I really love about working for myself?
The freedom to choose where I work and when I work. The freedom to choose my own path. The freedom to make the decisions about how I run my business.
Don’t get me wrong. Having your own online business can be a HUGE challenge and it sometimes feels like you’ve just jumped out of a plane without a parachute! It can be a frightening experience, especially when things don’t work out they way you thought they would.
Adding a squeeze page into Facebook is pretty simple and can be done with a few clicks but you will either need to have a secure website or go through another website that does have a secure certificate that you can borrow.
For a limited time you can get your website or blog set up for free! This is only available to new HostGator customers. I have been designing websites for over 10 years and usually charge $497 for a custom website design. You can get a basic website setup for free by following the steps below. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Finding a consistent source of traffic is essential if you want to make it big online. Unfortunately there are far too many people willing to take your money for little in return.
Solo ads seem like a great way to get targeted traffic to your offer. Sadly they are not always what they appear to be. I’ve taken the time to test out four popular solo ad vendors and to see how their traffic converts. Watch the video, or keep reading below, to see the results.
Being able to move your subscribers to a new list once they complete a followup sequence is an important part of managing your subscriber list. Keeping your email list engaged not only means your subscribers are happier but at the end of the day will put more money in your pocket as well. The only way to keep your subscribers engaged is by segmenting them to different followup sequences depending what they are interested in.
Tracking all of your advertising campaigns is vital to your online business success. When starting out many beginner marketers will group the different aspects of their targeting into one ad. It’s a common mistake to group all of the top tier countries into one ad. The problem with this is that if one country is performing better than the others you’ll never know. To make it worse Facebook will charge you based on how well your ad converts. The country that is doing well will be dragged down by the non-performing countries.
This not only applies to specific countries but all other aspects of the ad as well, age group, interests, gender, ad images, ad copy, income, etc.
Optimizing your ad means testing the targeting by changing these features one by one. You may find that for your offer people of a certain age range are responding better. Maybe it’s more specific to males or females or a certain image works well. You’ll never know if you group them all together and don’t test them out.
As you can see in the image above I had a page likes campaign where I was testing the ad placement on Facebook. Had I put all of these ads in the same grouping I’d never know that the right column ad costs about a third of the price of the other two. In fact by changing the images around I was able to get this down even further to around $0.30 per page like.
Remember to optimize your ad campaigns by testing and tweaking as much as possible. Change one thing at a time and see what happens. The results may surprise you!
Social media is a powerful way to drive traffic to your sites and videos. I’ve been using the Twitter/YouTube combination quite successfully on a couple of my channels and as you can see in the results above I’ve managed to gain over 3,000 followers in a short space of time. Many of these followers have gone on to become loyal YouTube subscribers as well!
Camtasia Studio 8 has many features that can make life much easier if you know how to use them. Watch the video above to learn how to create projects with a picture within a picture (PIP). If you’ve ever thought about recording from your web camera while taking a video of your screen at the same time then this is how you do it.
You can also upload multiple videos to the same Camtasia project and have them embedded one within the other. Camtasia Studio 8 makes it easy to re-size and position the video footage wherever you want it.
Camtasia is a little expensive but it does have a Camtasia 30 day free trial if you want to test it out for yourself. And of course if you need any help with your video projects don’t hesitate to let me know!
As the end of the year fast approaches it’s time to look back and see whether we’ve reached our goals for 2014. If you’ve fallen short this year don’t despair. Take an objective look at what went wrong and go about fixing it for 2015?
My goal for 2014 was to be in full-time marketing by the end of the year. I’ve fallen far short of this dream and had many, many setbacks along the way. Just to name a few, my YouTube channel that I had worked 9 months on had monetization disabled. This was not related to YT at all but another site I purchased from someone for $1400. Apparently the guy I bought the site from was buying traffic on the side and Google didn’t like this. I had only had the site for a few weeks and had no idea this was going on. Don’t do business directly with Google. Lesson learned!
