How to Backup All Your Game Save Files

Find out how to keep backups of all your game save files without the need to find all of the save file locations individually. If you’re a gamer or if you like to livestream on Twitch or put up videos on YouTube¬†then it’s important to make sure you have backups of all of your save files just in case something happens to them. I’ve lost game save files in the past due to my computer crashing or needing to make updates and finding all of the save files individually can be difficult and time consuming.

Some games also don’t have many save slots or they may only have one. Having a backup is a good way to make sure you can always go back to a previous save point.

There is a way to make sure you have backups of all of your save files, and you don’t need to know the location of all the save files to do it. It’s a program called GameSave Manager and it takes the heartache out of finding your game saves.

Here’s how it works.

1) First head over to GameSave Manager and download the program. It’s quite small and you can run it as a standalone program without needing to install it on your computer.

2) Run the .exe application which is probably called something like gs_mngr_3.exe. This will start up the program, scan your computer for games and update the games database of known save file locations for most games.

3) Click on ‘Make a Backup‘ and let the GameSave Manager list all of your games.¬†

That’s all there is too it! There’s no reason why you can’t always have a backup of your game saves just in case something happens. If you do want to restore your game saves in the main menu simply click on ‘Open Archives’. Select the game save that you want to restore. It will have a file extension of .gsba. Open it and GameSave Manager will restore the backup save file to the game.
