Free Social Media Resources To Save Time & Money

social media resourcesSocial media is a very important part of just about any online business. Many marketers use social media to promote their products almost exclusively. I’ve noticed a big increase to my YouTube views after concentrating on building a Twitter following as well. We’ll have a look at some of the best free social media resources to save you time and money.

Ultimate List of Headlines – Are you running out of ideas for tweets and shares? Here’s a list of Twitter headlines you can use to come up with an endless variation of headlines for your social media accounts. If you’re like me after a few tweets you’ll end up saying things like “Check this out…” over and over again. Keeping your headlines fresh is a good way to increase your social engagement.

Sharing Schedule – Most people will share their content on social media sites only once. CoSchedule have shown that sharing your content multiple times to the social media networks over days or weeks can double your traffic.

Have a look at the table below for a good example of how to schedule your social media posts. You don’t want to flood your followers and fans with your content but you do want to promote it effectively so they all get a chance to see it.

Up-To-Date Guide To Social Media Image Sizes – We all know images are much better at grabbing people’s attention than plain text. Adding images to your posts can make them stand out and hopefully drive more traffic to your content.

Different social media sites have different recommended image sizes. Having them on hand makes it easy to post the ideal image size for your social media network. Twitter for example, has a recommended profile photo size of 400 x 400 whereas Facebook has a recommended size of 180 x 180.

You can check out all the recommended image sizes for the popular social media sites including YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest with the free Google Doc here.

Bonus – If you have Photoshop you can download the SocialKit Plugin which gives you templates for the ideal image sizes. This should make it super easy to customize your pictures, profile photos and banners for all of the social media networks. This is a free plugin that only works with Photoshop so you will need to have your own copy of Photoshop before this will work.

You can download the SocialKit Plugin here.

I hope these free social media resources are helpful to you. Let me know which ones you like the best and if you have any other tricks to get ahead with your social media marketing.
