A Blog Is Not A Business

A Blog Is Not A Business

Blogging is not a businessSo what is a blog anyway? A blog is a personal website in which you can post your own content and links.

A blog is not a business, it’s a channel. It’s a way for you to generate traffic and leads FOR your business.

A blog helps you to maintain relationships with your viewers and buyers. You have complete control over your blog and what’s posted on there. It’s your ‘piece’ of the Internet.

Why Are Blogs So Important?

Google loves blogs and content so having an updated blog with regular, good quality content is a great way to drive traffic to your sign up forms or offers. A single blog post can continue to drive thousands of visitors to your website years after it was posted.

Blogging Platforms

There are a number of blogging platforms that you can use to get your content out such as Wordress, tumblr, Blogger, TypePad, LiveJournal, SquareSpace.

WordPress is what my blog run on and it is very stable and easy to update. There are two versions of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org)

WordPress.com is a free resource and it can be an ok way to get started but you must bear in mind that you don’t own the content.

WordPress.org is installed on a server. It does require a little bit of setting up and there is a hosting fee but you own your own content. The learning curve is also a little bit steeper but the flexibility of having your own blog and being able to customize your website is well worth the investment.
